Name of the Project : Adult Education

Target Group : Every individual must get education for prosperity and Development the society and the Country.(Providing Education to Adults)

AIM:

Promotes the skills to perform all social and economic functionaries in life
Making the poor and illiterates realize that they can shape their own future.
Broadens the knowledge of the adult
Gives reasoning abilities to the mind.

INTRODUCTION: Even though more than six decades have passed, since India achieved independence from the British rule, India, still, remains a backward country, because more than 50% of India’s population is illiterate. India is a vast country and achieving cent percent literacy has not been possible due to large numbers and lack of adequate financial resources. Since Independence, there has been a considerable increase in the number of schools and colleges and the number of students who have acquired education in these institutions has also increased much. However, most of the people are still illiterate and poor. As a result, they cannot afford to send their children to school. There is extreme poverty and also lack of awareness about the importance of education. There is a slow growth in the rate of literacy.

AWARENESS PROGRAMME: AMG conducts Awareness Programmes in rural and slum areas to aware the importance and value of education and compel the individuals to learn the education.

SURVEY: We do serve in rural and slum areas and the people of scheduled cast, scheduled tribes and backward communities for the development of communities and identity the non-literates.

SELECTION OF ANIMATORS: We select the committed and skilled Animators for making the non-literates for transforming literates.

STARTING OF ADULT EDUCATION CENTRES: As per the need to suite the goal we start the Adult Education Centres in several districts of Andhra Pradesh. We conduct Training Programme to the Animators for running the centres in successful manner.

TEACHING & LEARNING MATERIAL: We provide Wall map, Duster, Piece of
Chalk, Daily Work Book, Attendance Register, Slates, Slate Pencils, Prescribed Test Books and etc.

INCENTIVE & FUEL EXPENSES: Every Animator incentive & Fuel Charges provided.

PROVIDE SPIRITUAL NURTURE: We provide New Testaments and Hymn Books along with ethical and moral literates for the develop of moral standards.

ENCOURAGING: We provide clothes to the Adult Animators and Learners for encouraging. And also provide the Bundles of Love at the ‘X’ – Mas gift.

MONITORING: We conduct examinations to the Adult Learners.

AMG launched Adult Education Programme in and around AMG Project Areas. There are some targeted areas, most probably the people, who are living below poverty line in rural areas and slum areas in towns, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and daily labourers. We conducted Survey and identified non-literates. AMG appointed required number of Animators to provide literacy and its awareness programs to live as responsible individuals in the society.

AMG provided Teaching aids like Black boards, charts, Pieces of Chalk, Attendance Registers, Daily Work Books, Slates, Slate pencils etc. Text Books named Mana Aasalu No.1, 2 & 3 (Telugu) and New Testaments were given to the learners free of cost. Our social worker visits the centers for conducting review meetings in first week of every month.

The impact of the program is resulting that the adults can read the newspapers and postal letters what they receive from others. Also they are reading the scriptures and scribbling their names relating to the business matters, instead of putting their thumb impressions, most of the men and women are now able to calculate the transactions while they go to shop/market and joining in thrift groups for their daily livelihood. As they have tasted the fruit of literacy they are sending their children to the school.
