In the past, victims of leprosy were shunned by society and forced to form leper colonies ,their children were mistreated and not allowed in local schools. Social stigma of being the children of lepers has dissected them from the mainstream of the society. To remove this social stigma AMG has started Leprosy Relief and Rehabilitation projects and their children are offered education in all AMG Schools. Here we would like to share the success story of Y. Indira, daughter of a leprosy victim who is benefiting through AMG's ration distribution to leprosy victims at Anaparthy, near Rajamundry. "I am Y.Indira, my parents are leprosy victims. When I was a child, my parents used to beg on the streets and earn our livelihood. Each morning when I watched other children go to school I was very l sad and lonely. Local school authorities were not willing to admit me in their schools. In these situations, we came to know about AMG and its services to leprosy victims. When I approached AMG, they moved with compassion and admit me in their school at Rajavolu. AMG is also kind enough to provide my family with monthly ration support. I am grateful to Dr.S.John David ayyagaru for establishment of leprosy relief and rehabilitation colonies and provide education to their children. Now I finished my schooling and pursuing MPHW ( Multipurpose Health Workers) training course with the kind education support of AMG. I am sure that without AMG's help and support I could not become what I am today. I am grateful to AMG and Wortundtat for their generous support. "
